The lowdown: Use our themes, use your own - just share what you're "currently" up to! This week our themes are: listening, daydreaming, wanting, looking, and writing.
Please remember to add your link below so others can find you and add the button below to your own post so others can find us and link-up too! Also, be sure to visit the other bloggers that are participating and say hello - especially my lovely co-host Wendy at This Amazing Day.
Kale is currently...
Listening to the birds? The wind? Maybe high frequency noises that only two year olds and dogs can hear? I'm not sure what he's listening to - but it's not me. I actually pulled out the parenting discipline books this week and did a little "my two year old doesn't listen to me" google search. The books told me I should embrace my child's spirit and google told me that every other two year old out there doesn't listen either.
Daydreaming about going on boat rides and eating birthday cake. Not necessarily at the same time, but these two activities have been at the top of list of things Kale wants to do every.single.day.

Wanting me to read his mind. Kale's life would be so much easier if I could just read his mind and do exactly what he wants. Then he wouldn't have to scream at me every time I messed up. Like when I pick him up from camp and park on the road and he screams "PARK ON THE DRIVEWAY, MAMA!" and then the next day I park on the driveway and he screams "PARK ON THE ROAD, MAMA!"
Looking forward to the long weekend! He plans on practicing his surf skills at my parents, waking up at dawn, and not letting us rest for even a second.
Writing on his cardboard house. Yeah, the five foot high cardboard house we got Kale is still taking up the larger part of our dining room. It's mostly a house for the cat to sleep in now, which means we can send it to the basement as soon as Kale gets over colouring all over it.
I am currently....
Listening to......CBC RADIO! I know, you're surprised, right? Actually, the regular morning host is in London for the Olympics and the replacement is terrible. I actually considered moving over to BBC, but my sense of national pride has been hyperized (this is a word, no?) by the Olympics and I just can't seem to abandon my precious Canadian public radio for even a single news update.
Daydreaming NOT about the Olympic male divers in their micro speedos. Oh no. Not them at all.
Wanting an iPad...... So I bought Kris one for his birthday! Aren't shared gifts the best? I made sure Kris knows it's shared by having both our names engraved on the back.
Looking forward to the long weekend! We are planning to spend the weekend at my parents, relaxing on the beach, and watching the Olympics.
Writing an annual report for work. Blog posts. Labels on Kale's lunches. Nothing very exciting happening in the writing department here.
Next week's themes: Wishing, Reading, Cooking, Anticipating, Missing

My brother got me an iPad when Eli was younger and I couldn't get any time on the computer at all. (My brother is awesome like that!) Anyway, fast forward a year and a half and Eli is convinced it is his iPad that he graciously may share with me from time to time. It is almost scary how quickly he has learned how to work the thing without much instruction from me.
ReplyDeleteTwo year old selective hearing is pretty amazing... we're experiencing our share of that too.
Balm beach on sunday?
ReplyDeletep.s. we only do shared gifts in this family.
DeleteDoesn't quite fall into the daydreaming category, but Tom has decided that he knows what "dreams" are. Anytime he's falling asleep, he claims that he's going to dream about heart(-shaped) pancakes.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this meme. Gonna bookmark it so that I can remember to link up next week. I want an ipad as well. It's on my wish list. :)

Thanks,

Oh boy. It's like they're out to lunch and you don't even exist. That's what not listening looks like around here. And I love shared gifts. And I love that you engraved it with both your names. HILARIOUS!!!
