This week Kale fell more in love with his toothbrush, had an unfortunate meeting with the cat's claws, and then showed Bubbie how much his feelings were hurt by feeding him yogurt.
After three weeks of being a full-time SAHD, it was time for Kris to start his new life as part-time SAHD and part-time worker. This meant a frantic Monday morning as we both tried to get ourselves ready for the day, while Kale eyed up Kris's new toothbrush.
This week also meant Kale got two full days of hanging out with his Nana while Kris worked and I locked myself in our home office and got down to business.
Kale's Papa came by at the end of the day, Kris jammed on the xylaphone, and it was a party.
Kale crashed about 0.4 seconds after everyone left.
Tuesday was day 2 of both Kris and I working. We thought about letting Lucy the singing dog watch Kale for the day, but luckily Nana came back.
Kris and Kale show me how they really feel about getting out of bed.
The best part about working from home is being able to take breaks, crawl into bed, and nurse Kale. It beats hanging out at the water cooler any day.
Wednesday. Date night. The night Kris doesn't go to the gym and we watch Modern Family while Kale snores beside us. That's how romantic it gets around here.
The top left picture is my favourite of the week. I'm nursing Kale before I leave for work while he keeps a tight grip on his toothbrush.
On Friday I left work a little early and we went to the mall to search for cheap summer clothes for Kale for our trip to Cuba. Anything we buy now won't fit him when it's actually summer here, so we're basically buying clothes for one week. Hence, the need for them to be cheap. Luckily Old Navy had some deals. They also had this St. Patrick's day headband that Kale clearly loved wearing.
Kris donated blood. It was his third time. He got a sticker. He made me take a picture for the blog.
BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND - PAPA'S PERSPECTIVE!
Here are the photo's Kris took this week with his own little commentary.
This week was kinda crummy for me. I suppose crummy isn't the right word, but in terms of the ammount of time I got to spend with Kale compared to previous weeks - crummy it was! I worked Monday and Tuesday, Randalin took him to music class Wednesday morning, and Thursday I had to go get our passports sorted out. So it took until Friday before we could get a full day and back into our routine of being totally awesome!
1)Kale looks crazy here, but thats alright because we were totally rocking out before i took the picture. Explosions in the Sky was pumping on CFRU, and we would take turns playing the xylaphone and tamborine while did his little head bang. When the song ended and we were both just sitting there giggling, I thought to myself "That was the single coolest thing that I have ever experienced in my entire life." Im pretty sure Kale felt the same.
2) After rocking and rolling we ate some breakfast. Kale wanted to try the spoon for himself, and since he'd feasted pretty heavy on the yogurt I let him. Sure enough, he just wanted to feed the cat. But it was cool. In the picture you can see all of his favorite things. The radio, the cat, food, and his toothbrush!
3) Despite feeding him all the yogurt possible, the cat still laid down the law on Kale. I didnt think Randalin would seriously let me put this up on the internet. The cat gave Kale three smacks in the face when he got to close to the curtains (Bubbie is an indoor cat, and watches the neighborhood cats from the window thinking he's tough) Kale cried for a few seconds, but he was fine. He's more peeved than anything that I'm holding his head still to take the picture, as the 3000 other attempts lead to the standard photo of Kale, BLURRY! I always knew the two of them would rough it out, but man. Kale doesn't wrap his head around it, and the cat doesnt wrap HIS head around it, so they just get themselves into situations where someone is going to get their face smacked. I've been using my slippers to keep the cat in line, but its only a matter of time before Kale gets his revenge.
4) Thats my hat. Look at Kales hair! HA! Staying home is about 1 billion times better than anything else. This week promises to be a good one, with Daddy and Me drop in Monday, potentially only one day of work, AND no need to drive a 1.5 hour round trip in the morning for no good reason! Its going to be a fantastic week!

Visiting Cuba? How fantastic! Seems like a bittersweet week while adjusting to work.
ReplyDeleteah man, sorry to hear kale & the cat have hit a rough patch. hope next week is better!
ReplyDeletelove everything about this post from beginning to end! equally am in love with photo of kale breastfeeding while gripping toothbrush! so cute.
ReplyDeletelove "papa's perspective" --> photos and stories are great. i love the way it's written... natural and funny... a little chaotically...so daddy-ish.
we are in similar situations.. i'll be going back to work and stefano (daddy) will be staying with Seba... taking him to all the fun classes, etc.
boo for us =((
ps. cuba will be SO FUN!
ReplyDeletei LOVE these! And I love that Kale is obsessed with tooth brushes... that's hilarious! I hope his obsession lasts because most kids HATE brushing their teeth! He's such a cute little person. love!!
