manic monday.

So apparently being a working mom is EXHAUSTING.

Some people asked what I do for a living. I'm the project coordinator for a poverty reduction initiative in our city & county. The initiative is made up of government representatives, the research community, social service agencies, and people who live in poverty. My position is housed at the United Way in the Social Planning department. My job is all kinds of awesome.

Here's a quick recap of my Manic Monday...

Monday is garbage day around here so while I was running around getting ready for work, the boys were putting out the trash. Kale is currently obsessed with Kris's armpit hair so I'm not sure why Kris does anything shirtless these days.

Here I am, dressed for work, hair done, make up done. Set to go. About two seconds after this photo Kale spit up all over my pants. Awesome.

All three of my boys saying bye!

Here's my stash at work.
Kashi fruit & chocolate bars (yumm), green tea, fengugreek, and lots and lots of water.

I came home to a sad little man who had just taken a tumble, but it didn't take him long to cheer up. He loves seeing himself on my iPhone when I take a picture.

Back at work. I put that bowl of chocolate out for guests but I'm the only one who ends up eating it. As a result, I basically need to refill it everyday.

Sausage & artichoke stuffed pasta for dinner.

Kale enjoyed it.

And wine.
Kris asked me how many bottles to pick up and I asked him how many days there are in a week.
It was that kind of day.

  1. I really love your story telling technique. It makes me feel like I am in the "moment" too when I read and look at the photos.

  4. I agree the pasta sounds very interesting. Do you have a recipe you can share? I love artichoke.

Sounds like you've got a cool job! My husband is in the social services job field too, doing homeless prevention. Some of the stories I hear are very sad, but there are also happy ones too.
