kale's birth story.

When I was pregnant I read A LOT of birth stories for inspiration and knew that I wanted to share mine eventually, but I had no idea how hard it would be to write. Well, six months after Kale's birth I've finally convinced myself to quit editing it and post it.

A few warnings. First, it's pretty long. So grab yourself a cup a tea and settle in. Second, there is one slightly graphic picture (no nudity, just blood). So if that's the kind of thing that makes you quesy you might want to skip this.

You can read Kale's by clicking here.

Enjoy.

  1. Beautiful birth story. It is wonderful that you got to experience a natural and empowering birth. Reading stories like these always make me tear up. I had so hoped for a home birth, but alas, it wasn't in the cards for me.

I also had to laugh at your intro. I too was excused from much of my grade four curriculum to work on a novel with my best friend. I can't speak to the quality, but the quantity was impressive.

  3. loved it! you got me to tears! I remember the doc asking me if I wanted to touch grayson's head and I had a similar reaction... "heck no! just get him out!"... no drugs though, man you do rock.

(I stole your badge a couple days ago, too. it's super cute.)
