In the past couple of weeks Kale's sleep has slowly diminished. He went from waking up once or twice a night for a midnight snack, to waking up every hour and a half and only taking 30-45 min. naps during the day. When we went away last weekend he slept like a champion and despite our best efforts to recreate the exact same environment at home, he hasn't slept the same since. We're doing our best to be patient, knowing that this could be the result of teething, a growth spurt (god help us all...), or a new developmental phase. That being said, I am slowly going insane. During the first month and half of Kale's life he would wake every three hours and I had no problem with that. But every hour and a half?! Ugh.
To make everything just that much better, Kale discovered that he can scream this week. He can hit notes that even dogs can't hear.
Our cat was so freaked out that he jumped through the screen door last night to escape.
Ok. That's not true. He did jump through the screen door (like a bullet), but it was to attack a neighbouring cat. Apparently a lack of sleep has had an affect on him.
Thankfully, Kale gives me these looks during the day and I can keep going:
